Roman Nodles Ramen Noodles Beef Powder
Jump to Recipe
All of my kids LOVE ramen noodles…and until last year, I had no idea I could make homemade ramen seasoning.
Our oldest 2 daughters are adopted from Ukraine and when they first came to America, ramen noodles were one of the first things they pointed out in the grocery store.
In Ukraine, they ate ramen noodles regularly in the orphanage, but actually ate the ramen noodles dry…and they liked them that way.
During their first year in America, they often took ramen noodles to school with them. I'm sure the school wondered about my parenting since they would eat the ramen noodles at school without cooking them.
After we adopted the twins, one of the older girls introduced them to ramen noodles and they were just as smitten! If my kids had their way, they would eat ramen noodles 2 or 3 nights a week.
Fortunately (or unfortunately if you were to ask them), James has a gluten intolerance and can only take small doses of gluten without having major stomach issues.
I recently discovered these thin rice noodles and decided to try my hand at making homemade ramen seasoning. It took a few tries to get the spice blend right, but I'm thrilled with the way this turned out.
Making homemade ramen seasoning is super easy and my kids are thrilled that they'll be able to enjoy ramen noodles more frequently…although still not 2 or 3 times a week. 🙂

Ramen Seasoning Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons Poultry Seasoning
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Onion Powder
- 2 chicken-flavored bouillon cubes
- 1 teaspoon black pepper {We're not big fans of pepper, so feel free to add more if you think it needs more.}
1. Crush your bouillon cubes into powder. You can do this in a food processor or by hand.
2. Mix all ingredients together.
3. Place in an airtight jar. {I used one of these Ball Herb Jars and it's perfect.}
Totally easy-peasy!
When you're ready to make ramen at home, just add some ramen seasoning to your noodles and water and mix well.
FAQ {Frequently Asked Questions}
How much ramen seasoning should I add to my noodles?
This is a hard question to answer since I'm not sure the amount of noodles you'll be using and how much water you're using. I would start small. You can always add more if you think you need more.
What else can I add to make my ramen more flavorful?
We have totally been on a Bragg's Liquid Aminos kick around here and have been adding it to everything! A splash of liquid aminos will make your ramen even more flavorful.
Can I add other ingredients?
Yep. You sure can! I love to cook and I have a zillion cookbooks that I adore, but I still rarely follow any recipe as written.
Want to make it spicier? Add some paprika or cayenne pepper to your spice mix. Heck, you can even add some Frank's Red Hot Sauce to your noodles after they're done cooking.
Use common sense and don't add anything weird and you should be totally fine!
Bon appetit!
